SUMMARY:RCC Learning Series: ImprovEQ Diversity Training
DESCRIPTION:This dynamic and interactive two part session uses the principles of improv to explore diversity and inclusion in the workplace with a focus on belonging\, the feeling we have when we are welcomed\, accepted\, and valued for who we are. Diversity places value on differences within a group and inclusion invites everyone to the group. But a sense of belonging is what solidifies the relationships and culture of acceptance within a group or workplace. \n\nThrough a series of improv-based games we practice perspective-taking\, effective communication\, and self-awareness to shift our mindset toward a positive\, collaborative\, and accepting space where every individual feels they belong. ImprovEQ's approach is entertaining and eye-opening and builds emotional intelligence (EQ) skills through improv in a safe environment for better performance in real-life situations. \n\n \n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n Understand the value of belonging. \n\n Identify the strengths and challenges of diversity. \n\n Using EQ as a framework\, explore bias and privilege.\n\n Build trust and support within teams.\n\n\n\n Faciliatator: Betsaida LeBron\n\n Principal\, Improve EQ\n\nhttp://improveq.org/
